The resultant cash from my share sale has gone through today, later tonight I will be divvying it up between my credit cards to help get their balances down.

The bad news is that I also have some domains to pay for which will push up my balances a little more.

While I’m busy in this world of high finance I’ll jot down my balance figures and give my first credit card status report in quite some time. It’s not going to be pretty, actually I can say already that my credit card debt levels will be significantly higher than the last time I bothered to post them.

Hopefully this little reality check will help keep me in line with my spending.

The shares plummeted on opening trading and my stop loss order was placed onto the market.

Based on the share price I’ve lost about $300 over the past six months. When I add in brokerage and the credit card interest then I’m probably down around $900. Oh well, stuff happens.

The good news is that the funds should clear on Tuesday and I should have around $4500 to reduce my credit card bills.

I’m not sure which direction the funds will flow in yet, I have three cards that need to be reduced, I can pay one off and have some spare to knock another one down a bit. I’ll take a look at the balances once the funds have cleared and make my decision then.

The bad news is that I have another $500 in bills that need to be paid soon, I don’t have the cash for them and don’t want to add to my credit card debt. Going to have to sleep on that one as well.

Not terribly exciting but together they add up to an extra $57 a fortnight. I didn’t get the payrise for doing anything special, just one of those semi-regular things that are built into our agreement.

And for a change I’m going to use the pay rise responsibly to reduce my credit card debt.

As I mentioned before I have an automatic $100 a fortnight payment going from my pay to one of my credit cards. As of next pay I’m increasing this to $150. I know you sitting there asking yourself where is he going to waste that other $7, well the answer to that is anywhere I damn well please :)

To be honest the cost of living has been going up and up for some time now and I’ve actually been making cutbacks just to stay in the black on a week to week basis.

Now I just need to come up with a plan not to use my credit card to pay my power bill….. maybe a garage sale on ebay………..
