Platinum Credit Card Offer

In todays mail was a pretty silver (maybe it was supposed to be platinum) coloured envelope offering to convert one of my credit cards from gold to platinum.

I had a quick read of the brochure and the only thing in it for me was the doubling of the annual credit card fee.

Of course there was some other stuff that I’ll never need, like purchase protection, and a concierge service, which I is just a fancy name for someone to call if you get stuck for something

I could go into more detail but this credit card offer is already in the bin.

I haven’t made a single payment on my cards so far this month. I have about $300 left in everyday account, and there is another $300 being transferred into my business account in the next week, barring disasters I will be paying this off my credit cards before the end of the week.

I also have a few bills to pay,

$190 on someone elses store account for when I had to get a new heater for my house
$60 for power connection (though my flatmate will probably pay half)
$35 for my mobile phone (which is way overdue)

I also offered to pay the next power bill for the place I was housesitting, I haven’t seen it yet but I expect it to be around $200.

I still haven’t received the credit card balance paper work from the GE Mastercard peoples. I could chase it up but I just don’t have the energy to deal with all the brick walls you run into when dealing with a big corporate.

I’ve also come across a variation of a theme for an online business that I’m going to give a try. I won’t be posting the details as I don’t need everyone copying it, (yes I think it’s that good) but I’ll start testing it this week and if it works as well as I hope it does I can see my credit card repayment goals being met very quickly.
